Asking for Your Help to Go to Egypt

Dearest reader,

I’ve set up a GoFundMe to help me realize a life-long dream: a two-week trip to Egypt to explore its temples, magic, and mythology. I need your help funding it. The costs cover the tour, flight, lodging, meals, and personal expenses, including trip insurance. Donations over and above $10,000 will be allocated for new electronic equipment, including a new camera, to help me with my photography.

I want to be mindful of your time, energy, and efforts. That’s why I’m sending digital thank you gifts in the form of photos, eBooks, games, or some combination of the three for every milestone.

I understand you may not want to read about this campaign or my dream. That’s why I’d like to be up front with you about communications. First, I promise to not make this the focal point of my newsletter. The next newsletter I’ll send will be once (or “if”) I reach a $5,000 milestone to both document my journey and tell you about what I’ve been offering as gifts.

This morning, I realized there might be a way to wrap in another pandemic goal: get better at watercolor paintings. This weekend, I spent Rainbow Bridge Day playing around with a new set of watercolor pencils, working on simple shapes and color palettes. They might just do the trick to help me figure out how to add some definition to my paintings. To that end, I’ve added this goal to BooksOfM on Ko-Fi and plan on documenting my journey there, in the hopes I’ll be able to raise some funds there, too.

Thanks for listening and for entertaining my dream. Wishing you the very best, always, so you can realize your own.

Warmly,

~M
